Ayurvedic Diet

The Ayurvedic diet is based on a 3000 year old tradition from India, in which the body, mind and spirit are a tone with the universe. It states the three life energies or Doshas called  Pitta, Vata und Kapha. These are what our health, well being and figure are controlled by. 


It is said that in overweight people the earth dosha, Kapha is strong and the metabolism does not function as it should, or at least thatís what the Indian teachings say.


Therefore, detox programmes are popular within the Ayurvedic diet, such as days when you fast and whole body massages, which is supposed to get rid of the Ama. 


Yoga also goes hand in hand with this diet.


The basic foodstuffs are salads, vegetables, milk products, meat, fish and eggs. Alcohol should not be drunk, but herbal teas and other healthy alternatives instead.



Although the Ayurveda diet is not bad for your health, it has also not been scientifically proven that it helps you lose weight either.


The best way to lose weight is to follow a balanced diet and to exercise.
